I grew up in the stunning natural beauty of Nicaragua, surrounded by a Latin culture rich with traditions of bespoke clothing, lush fabrications and leathers, and a sense of occasion. Every day was touched by simple refinements, like my tailored school uniforms, handmade shoes for every occasion, and the richest bed linens I’ve yet experienced. This style was ubiquitous and influenced my sensibilities and personal style.
This world ended abruptly when an earthquake destroyed most of Managua. My family moved to Los Angeles, and over time we rebuilt. The foundation of our culture was our strength.
Years later I returned to Nicaragua, and an exciting picture developed in my mind. Having worked to help build other luxury brands, I decided to launch my own crocodile handbag line from my native country. My vision is to fuse the elegant traditions of my childhood with my own design concepts. As part of my vision I am also enjoying formally training others in Nicaragua who have a dream to build a better life for themselves and their families.
My collections are authentic; aspirational yet attainable, pure luxe for every day. I work only with crocodiles that are native to Nicaragua, and part of a sustainable environment. Our craftspeople have deep expertise with these skins, the way Italians do with leather. Each handbag I design has its own unique identity, story, and soul. In a sense, every one of my handbags is a product that has been in the making for a lifetime.
